Rogues Fall Behind Early, Drop Game 1 in Lincoln, 9-6

LINCOLN, CA -- Lincoln (8-2) scored all nine runs in the opening four innings and the Rogues (6-5) couldn’t come back as the Potters took game one 9-6 at McBean Memorial Park on Friday night.

 

Connor Lowrie (Blackhawk JC) hit a two-run home run for the Rogues in the second inning. Lowrie, celebrating a birthday on Friday, would also score in the eighth inning.

 

Lowrie had a sacrifice fly in the ninth as the Rogues rallied. Josh Berman (Clark CC) was the tying run at the plate and hit a fastball to deep center field which would be caught to end the game.

 

Davis Delorefice (Utah) went 3-4, a home run shy of the cycle, with two RBI.

 

Lincoln, CA native Alex Isola (Utah) went 2-3 with double, a run scored and an RBI in front of his hometown fans.

 

Ryan Carle (Pacific University) tossed four innings of scoreless ball, facing 16 batters, scattering three hits and striking out four batters.
