CHICO, Ca. – The Medford Rogues (16-6) defeated the Chico Heat (13-9), 10-7 on Thursday night at Nettleton Stadium.

The Heat scored three runs in the bottom of the ninth with two out and had the bases loaded, but the Taylor Frost (Southern Idaho) came in and shut the door for his third save of the year.

Davis Delorefice (Utah) paced the Rogues tonight; he went 3-5 with 3 RBI and a run scored.

Scotty Wright (Colorado Christian) went 2-3 with two runs scored and a walk.

Josh Berman went 2-4 with a run scored and an RBI.

In the top of the eighth inning, Connor Lowrie hit a two-out single, and then stole second. Lowrie was caught in a pickle between second and third, but some fancy footwork brought him safely to third. The next batter, Johnny DeLaCruz (Louisiana-Monroe) walked. DeLaCruz then got caught in a pickle between first and second. While he was in the rundown, Lowrie stole home, and DeLaCruz made it back in safely to first.

Words were exchanged between both dugouts when Will Floyd (Blinn JC) hit Jake Davison to load the bases with two outs in the bottom of the ninth. Warnings were issued to both by both teams by home plate umpire Bill Shortridge.

The Rogues have won 14 out of their last 16 games.
