MEDFORD, Ore. – The Medford Rogues (22-8) defeated the Portland Pickles (13-15) 6-5 on Saturday night at Harry & David Field.

Jake Hellweg (Bethune Cookman) got the scoring started for the Rogues on Red, White, and Blue Night with a solo home run in the second inning, his first of the year.

The Rogues did the most of their damage with the bat in the sixth inning. Clay Valenzuela-Reece (Campbellsville) and Alex Isola (Utah) lead the inning off with back to back singles.

Dante Gutierrez (University of San Diego) then singled home Valenzuela-Reece and Isola on a grounder up the middle.

Caleb Smith (Linn-Benton CC) pinch-ran for Gutierrez and advanced to third on a throwing error by catcher Andrew Garcia attempting to catch Smith stealing second. Eric Yang (UC Santa Barbara) then singled home Smith.

Braden Stutzman (Oregon) came up with two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning with the Rogues down 5-4 and singled home Bryce Tilton (Western Oregon) from second. Stutzman would then come home to score on the wild pitch, putting the Rogues on top for good.

Starting pitcher Peyton Fuller (Oregon) went six and two thirds innings, scattered six hits, gave up two earned runs, and struck out four.

Taylor Frost (Southern Idaho) earned his fourth save in as many tries.
