Rogues Can’t Mount Game One Comeback

MEDFORD, Ore. – The Medford Rogues (25-10) drop Game One to the Lincoln Potters (22-12) 8-2 on Friday night at Harry & David Field.

 

Clay Valenzuela-Reece (Campbellsville) hit a sharp double down the left field line to lead off the sixth inning. Jake Hellweg (Bethune Cookman) delivered a two-out RBI single to score Valenzuela-Reece later in the inning.

 

The two would connect later in the game. Hellweg singled home Valenzuela-Reece in the eighth inning.

 

Valenzuela-Reece extended his hitting streak to 12 games. He finished the game 3-5 with a double and two runs scored.

 

Jake Hellweg finished the evening 3-4 with two RBI.

 

Dante Gutierrez (University of San Diego) made a couple terrific defensive plays at first base.

 

Nick Parr (Western Oregon) pitched 2 innings in relief and gave up no earned runs.
