Rogues Offense Keeps Rolling in Game Two

MEDFORD, Ore. – The Medford Rogues (32-14) defeated the Yuba City Bears (10-37) 10-4 on Friday night at Harry & David Field.

Clay Valenzuela-Reece (Campbellsville) lead the game off with a single for the Rogues. Johnny DeLaCruz (Louisiana-Monroe) reached on an error, and Alex Isola (Utah) walked to load the bases.

Eric Yang (UC Santa Barbara) delivered a two-RBI double, Dante Gutierrez (UC San Diego) hit an RBI single, and Connor Lowrie (Blackhawk JC) hit an RBI double to put the Rogues up by five.

Scotty Wright (Colorado Christian) and Valenzuela-Reece walked to load the bases again, this time for DeLaCruz. He hit a two-RBI double, scoring Lowrie and Wright. 12 Rogues batters would come to the plate in what would be a seven-run first inning.

The Rogues scored one more in the fourth, thanks to an RBI single by Gutierrez, scoring Caleb Smith (Linn Benton CC), who pinch-ran for DeLaCruz.

In the sixth inning, Valenzuela-Reece led off with a double to left field. He would eventually come around to score on the RBI sacrifice fly by Smith.

The Bears scored four in the eighth, but the Rogues answered back in the bottom of the inning, thanks to an RBI ground rule double by Bryce Tilton (Western Oregon).

Starting pitcher Cole Percival (UC Riverside) pitched six shutout innings, scattered three hits, and struck out seven. He earned his third win of the year.

The Rogues pitching staff combined for ten strikeouts.
