MEDFORD, Ore. – The Medford Rogues (35-14) defeated the Marysville Gold Sox (19-31) 8-7 on Wednesday night at Harry & David Field.

Clay Valenzuela-Reece (Campbellsville) and Davis Delorefice (Utah) lead the game off for the Rogues with back to back singles. Alex Isola (Utah) walked to load the bases.

With two outs in the inning, Jake Hellweg (Bethune Cookman) delivered a two-RBI single through the right side of the infield.

Great West League Player of the Week Eric Yang (UC Santa Barbara) lead off the third inning with a double. With that hit, Yang has hit safely in his last 10 games.

Isola hit a flare single to shallow right-center field, which advanced Yang to third.

Johnny Delacruz (Louisiana-Monroe) laid down a bunt down the third base line as Yang took off for home. The suicide squeeze was successful, and DeLaCruz reached safely at first.

Dante Gutierrez (San Diego) then cleared the bases with a two-out double.

Valenzuela-Reece singled to lead off the fourth, and was brought home on a two-run home run by Delorefice.

The score was tied 7-7 in the ninth inning. Yang lead off with a broken bat single up the middle, and Caleb Smith (Linn-Benton CC) was brought in as a pinch runner.

A deep fly ball to left-center field by Isola advanced Smith to second.

DeLaCruz then hit a ball to deep center field. Justin Coony-Sylk, the Gold Sox centerfielder, made the catch for the second out, and Smith tagged to advance to third.

Coony-Sylk dropped the ball on the transfer from his glove to his throwing hand, and Smith scored from second base for the walk off win.

D.J. Wilson (Campbellsville) earned the win, his second of the year.

DeLaCruz went 3-4 with the game winning RBI.
