MEDFORD, Ore. – The Medford Rogues (36-14) defeated the Marysville Gold Sox (19-32) 8-2 on Thursday night at Harry & David Field. 

 

Clay Valenzuela-Reece (Campbellsville) once again lead the game off with a single to set the table for the RBI leader of the Great West League Alex Isola (Utah).

 

Isola singled home Valenzeula-Reece for the first run of the game.

 

Eric Yang (UC Santa Barbara) singled with two outs in the third inning. Isola delivered again for the Rogues; this time an RBI double.

 

Johnny Delacruz (Louisiana-Monroe) promptly plated Isola with an RBI single. DeLaCruz went 2-3 with an RBI.

 

Jake Hellweg (Bethune Cookman) singled to lead off the fourth inning and stole second base.

 

Caleb Smith (Linn-Benton CC) tripled home Hellweg before being brought home on the RBI fielder’s choice by Jayden Hanna (Lane CC).

 

Smith and Hellweg would combine for another Rogues run in the sixth. Smith singled home Hellweg from third base.

 

Valenzuela-Reece singled home Smith later in the inning to give the Rogues a six-run lead.

 

Valenzuela-Reece finished the game 3-5 with two RBI and a run scored.

 

Starting pitcher Cole Percival (UC Riverside) pitched 6.1 innings of one-run baseball (unearned) and struck out four to pick up his fourth win of the year.
