The eight selections are most out of any team in the GWL. Catcher Alex Isola (Yavapai), third baseman Davis Delorefice (Utah), starting pitcher Dylan Pearce (Oregon State), and closer Taylor Frost (Lane CC) were all named to the ALL-GWL First Team. The voting was conducted by the league managers. Isola (.337/.421/.512) lead the Rogues in home runs (9) and the GWL in RBI (63), and was named the Top Position Prospect in the 2017 GWL All-Star game by MLB Scouts. Isola had a triple-slash line of .588/.720/1.000 during the 2017 GWL Playoffs, all team highs. Delorefice (.328/.443/.495) tied the Rogues all-time record for most triples in a season (4). From June 2nd to July 18th, Delorefice reached safely in 33 out of 34 games played, and 14 of those games were multi-hit performances. Delorefice appeared as a pitcher in the 2017 GWL All-Star Game, and pitched a scoreless inning against the Chico Heat. Pearce (6-0) started and ended the season for the Rogues, pitching in the 2017 Season Opener and the deciding Championship Game Two. He led the team in wins this season, and amassed a 3.77 ERA while striking out 58 batters across 62 innings. In just his second year with the team, Pearce broke the records for most innings pitched (121.2) and most strikeouts (116) as a Rogue. Pearce was named the 2017 All-Star game starting pitcher. Frost finished the regular season with a 0.00 ERA, and finished the summer with 26 strikeouts while allowing just 10 hits across 21 innings, and recorded a Rogues all-time record 10 saves. Frost was 10-10 in save opportunities this summer. Manager Josh Hogan was named the 2017 Great West League Manager of the Year. Hogan led the Rogues to consecutive GWL regular season titles and Championship games. Shortstop Clay Valenzuela-Reece (Campbellsville), outfielder Johnny DeLaCruz, and starting pitcher Jaiden France (San Jose State) were all named to the All-GWL Second Team. Valenzuela-Reece (.352/.415/.380) set the Rogues record for most consecutive games with a hit (18) and most hits in a season (82). Valenzuela-Reece played on both sides of the infield, the outfield, and catcher this summer. He also sported an impressive 24 walks to just 22 strikeouts during the season. Valenzuela-Reece was named to the 2017 GWL All-Star team, where he scored two runs and also pitched a 1-2-3 sixth inning. DeLaCruz (.346/.433/.429) was second on the team in hits (81) and RBI (48), and earned 33 walks while striking out just 25 times during the summer. DeLaCruz was also named to the 2017 GWL All-Star team. DeLaCruz had 10 hits and eight runs scored in the 2017 playoffs. France (5-0) tied for second on the team for wins with Chris Painter (Tennesee Wesleyan). France had 34 strikeouts in 55 innings, and the Rogues had a record of 11-1 when France pitched in the game. France took the mound in Game One of the Championship Series on the road against Chico, and held the Heat to three runs across 5.2 innings to help the Rogues win, 5-3. All-GWL Honorable Mentions included Jake Hellweg (Bethune-Cookman), Scotty Wright (Colorado Christian), Jayden Hanna (Lane CC), Peyton Fuller (Oregon), and Dante Gutierrez (University of San Diego). Hellweg (.305/.413/.381) led the Rogues in stolen bases (15) and played terrific defense in right field all summer, highlited by a home-run-robbing catch that took him up, over, and behind the outfield wall at Walker Stadium in Portland, Oregon. Wright was a super-utility player for the Rogues this summer. He had a slash line of .300/.442/.433 in 90 at-bats, including nine doubles, a home run, and 23 runs scored. As a pitcher, he recorded 60 strikeouts over 34.1 innings, a Rogues all-time record. In the second game of a double-header against the Lincoln Potters, Wright took the mound as a starting pitcher for the first time in his career. He proceeded to strike out 14 batters on his way to a Perfect Game, the first ever in League (and team) history. The 14 strikeouts set the Rogues single-game record. Hanna (.303/.416/.376) was a spectactular second baseman. He had terrific range in the field, and was constantly grinding out at-bats at the plate. Hanna scored the go-ahead run on a wild pitch in Game One of the Championship Series in Chico. Hanna took off immeadiately from third when the ball rolled to the backstop, and his head-first slide snuck in under the tag of Heat pitcher Sam Gamboa. Fuller (3-2) made his first start for the Rogues the day after graduating from Ashland High School. He had 39 strikeouts and allowed just 21 walks in 46.1 innings pitched. Fuller was the starting pitcher in the win-or-go-home Game Three of the Opening Round against the Portland Pickles. He scattered four hits and struck out five in 3.2 innings to help the Rogues defeat Portland 12-6. Gutierrez (.253/.371/.297) saw time at catcher, first base, and the outfield for the Rogues this season. He had a double, a home run, and led the team with 10 RBI in the playoffs.
