MEDFORD, Ore. – The 2017 GWL Champion Medford Rogues have announced the signing of two pitchers from Division I San Jose State, pitchers Brandon Ross and Walker Brinkman, and UC Berkeley commit, catcher Cole Elvis.

Ross is a 6’0 tall southpaw freshman. In high school, his career statistics include a 2.24 ERA, 11-4 win-loss record, and an opponent batting average of .212. In his senior season at Vista Murrieta High School, he recorded an 8-2 win-loss record in 59 innings with an opponent batting average of .189. Ross was named the 2017 Southwestern League Pitcher of the Year, a 2017 Southwestern League First-Team selection, and a 2017 Second-Team All CIF-Selection.

Brinkman is a 6’0 tall freshman right hander. He earned First-Team Bay Valley Athletic League his junior season of high school and was named Second-Team All-League his senior year at Heritage High School. In 2017, he was named as an All-American and a Rawlings-Perfect Game All-League Honorable mention.

Elvis has verbally committed to playing for UC Berkeley next summer and is currently attending Vacaville High School. Elvis has played catcher his whole life, and last year he hit .321 with a team-high 21 RBI. Vacaville baseball head coach Stu Clary said this about Elvis in an interview just a couple weeks ago, “He’s an outstanding catcher with elite pop time behind the plate. He’s got a cannon back there. He’s been working out exclusively at catcher this offseason. Catcher is where he’s going to play at the next level.”
