Medford Sweeps Sacramento In Extra Innings

Medford, Oregon - The Medford Rogues and Sacramento Stealth met in game three at Harry and David Field tonight and gave fans free baseball when extra innings were needed to finish the game. The game ended in a walkoff single by Johnny DeLaCruz to propel the Rogues over the Stealth, 3-2 in the bottom of the tenth.

The Stealth were first to strike in the first inning, thanks to a lead-off double by Dylan Wright. They scored again in the fourth after Logan Marston reached on a triple and scored off a wild pitch. The Rogues first plated a run in the seventh inning. Johnny DeLaCruz reached on a single and was brought in with a sacrifice fly by Brock Pradere. They then tied the ballgame up in the eighth off a sacrifice fly by Braden Stutzman. Tied at 2, the Rogues and Stealth went into the tenth inning. Medford held Sacramento scoreless in the top of the inning. In the bottom of the tenth, Braden Stutzman reached base on a walk. Johnny DeLaCruz launched a deep ball into right-center field bringing in Stutzman for the winning run of the game.

On the mound, Reece Green got the start for the Rogues. Green went 7 innings and gave up 2 runs on 4 hits. He did not walk any batters and struck out 5, now with a 1.29 ERA. Trenton Stoltz pitched the eighth inning, striking out one batter and not giving up a run. Dylan Pearce earned the win for the Rogues, going the final two innings, walking 1 and striking out 1. Pearce gave up just one hit and no runs, now with a 1.80 ERA.

Johnny DeLaCruz went three-for-five with 2 RBIs and scored 1 run. His average now sits at .286. David Bellamy was also strong at the plate going two-for-three with an RBI and stolen base. Bellamy is now batting .246. Connor Lowrie went one-for-four scoring one of the three runs for the Rogues.

The Rogues are back in action on Tuesday at Harry and David Field at 6:35pm when the Lodi Crushers come to town. It is Petro $2 Tuesday and fans are able to purchase bleacher tickets for just $2.
