Rogues Sign Ben Kiefer

MEDFORD, OR -- The Medford Rogues have signed catcher Ben Kiefer for the 2019 season. The 6’1” junior currently plays for the University of Northern Alabama.

 

Kiefer tallied up 60 hits with the Greyhounds and 35 RBI, with 27 of them coming from his sophomore season. He batted .339 his freshman year and .304 his sophomore year, accompanied with a slugging percentage of .464 and .444. He is currently leading his team in batting average and multi-hit games.

Kiefer graduated from Southlake Carroll High School (Texas) underneath head coach Larry Hughes, where he helped lead the Dragons to a 6A regional championship. After high school, Kiefer played at Fort Scott Community College for John Hill, where he helped the Greyhounds to a Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference runner-up finish and earned third-team Kansas Jayhawk Community Community College All-Conference as a catcher.

Kiefer has been named a 2-time NJCAA Academic All American and 2-time KJCAA Academic All Conference. He is currently majoring in sports management.

The Golden State Collegiate Baseball League is a 8-team, wooden bat collegiate summer baseball league founded in 2012. The GSCBL is a showcase for top college-level players, giving professional baseball scouts a chance to see prospective pros playing against each other.

The GSCBL brings highly competitive collegiate baseball to mid-sized communities throughout the West while featuring affordable family entertainment. The GSCBL will have franchises in California (Alameda, Petaluma, Sacramento, San Jose, San Francisco, Yuba-Sutter), Nevada (Reno) and Oregon (Medford). These franchises are the backbone of the Golden State League and its foundation now and in the future. All teams affiliated with the GSCBL showcase some of the top talent in the country.
