Rogues Sign Grants Pass Native

MEDFORD, Or. -- The Medford Rogues have signed Grants Pass native Chris D'Amico from Presentation College.

D'Amico sports a 4.15 ERA with 41 strikeouts in 56.1 innings pitched. D'Amico has gone the distance twice for the Saints this season. He allowed one earned run over nine innings against Viterbo on March 23rd, and pitched eight innings and allowed two runs in a home victory against Dakota State.

Chris grew up in Grants Pass the youngest of three brothers in a baseball family. D'Amico's baseball career began with T-ball in Grants Pass Little League. He then moved on to Babe Ruth, Grants Pass Jr. Cavemen, Travel Ball teams, Grants Pass High JV and Varsity, and the Grants Pass Nuggets. D'Amico is entering his senior year at Presentation College with a major in Nursing, with the goal of being a Nurse Anesthetist and returning to work in the Rogue Valley.

The Golden State Collegiate Baseball League is a 8-team, wooden bat collegiate summer baseball league founded in 2012. The GSCBL is a showcase for top college-level players, giving professional baseball scouts a chance to see prospective pros playing against each other.

The GSCBL brings highly competitive collegiate baseball to mid-sized communities throughout the West while featuring affordable family entertainment. The GSCBL will have franchises in California (Alameda, Petaluma, Sacramento, San Jose, San Francisco, Yuba-Sutter), Nevada (Reno) and Oregon (Medford). These franchises are the backbone of the Golden State League and its foundation now and in the future. All teams affiliated with the GSCBL showcase some of the top talent in the country.
