Rogues To Host Inaugural GWL All Star Game

The Medford Rogues and Great West League announced today that the Rogues will be hosting the inaugural Great West League All-Star Game July 25 and 26 at Har­ry and Field.

In addition to the Rogues’ All-Star selects, the Rogue Valley will welcome 50 players and coaches from its teams in Chico, Portland, Marysville, Lodi and Sacramento and draw hun­dreds of fans from all over Oregon and California to cheer on their favorite players. The Major League Baseball Scouting Bureau will be in attendance to observe the country’s top collegiate players. As an organization The Medford Rogues will work with tourism, the Southern Oregon Sports Commission and business partners to showcase the city and maximize the economic impact hosting the All-star game will bring.

“We’re excited to hold our first All-Star Game in a city with fabulous fans and a great ball park. The fans will be thrilled with everything planned for our league’s major showcase,” says GWL League President, Ken Wilson.

The Rogues will launch two new season flex packs including the All-Star game, which will go on sale on Friday, March 25, 2016 at 10 a.m. The Weekend Warrior Flex Pack includes access to all Friday, Saturday and Sunday games of the season and Grand Slam Saturdays Flex Pack includes tickets to all five Saturdays. Each pack includes tickets to the All-Star Game. Season tickets are also available and include the All-star game. “We are absolutely thrilled to have been selected to host the first All-Star game for the Great West League and to bring the game to Medford this summer,” says Carolyn Birch, acting Gen­eral Manager for the Medford Rogues. “We know that our fans and residents of Medford will be excited to showcase the amazing aspects of our beautiful city and the support that they have for our local team.”

The Great West League is in its’ inaugural season and is comprised of 6 teams in Or­egon and California; Medford Rogues, Chico Heat, Marysville Gold Sox, Portland Pickles, Sacramento Stealth, Lodi Crushers. The teams are made up of high caliber players from all over the country, and world. The top players from each team will comprise the All-Star teams who will be competing in front of MLB scouts.

“It is the ultimate compliment to the Rogues to be selected as host for the All-Star game,” says Gary Miller, president of Medford Youth Baseball Society. “It will also help showcase the Medford area and provide a boost for area tourism.”
