Medford Drops Game One in Marysville

Marysville, California - The Medford Rogues and Marysville Gold Sox met for the opening game of the final road series of the regular series for the Rogues in front of a crowd of 2,420 people at Calusa Casino Stadium. The Gold Sox got to scoring early and then the Rogues tied the game in the 5th inning. Marysville plated two more runs in the eighth inning and topped the Rogues, 5-3.

The Gold Sox were first to strike in the first inning and led the Rogues 1-0 after one. Medford then scored three runs in the third inning off an RBI single by Jayden Hanna and a 2-run single by Cam Russ. The Gold Sox plated two runs in the fifth tying the game at 3-runs each. Marysville was able to score two more in the eighth and held on to the 5-3 win over Medford.

Tristan Duncan earned his second start of the summer for Medford, going 5 innings and gave up 6 hits. He walked two and struck out one and now has a 2.94 ERA. Dylan Pearce pitched 3 innings for the Rogues and gave up 2 runs on 3 hits, walked 4 and struck out 3, with a 2.56 ERA.

At the plate, Jayden Hanna went 1-for-4 with an RBI and run scored, improving his batting average to .259. Brock Pradere went 1-for-1 with two walks and also scored a run. Bryon Foust, the designated hitter, went 1-for-4 improving his batting average to .231.

The Rogues and Gold Sox face off again tomorrow night in Marysville for game two at 6:05pm.
