Rogues Welcome Top-Notch Campbellsville Trio

Malik Evans, D.J. Wilson & Clay Valenzuela-Reece are set to compete for the Rogues for the 2017 season.

MEDFORD, Ore. – The Medford Rogues are excited to welcome two returners and a new ballplayer to the organization for the 2017 season. All members of the NAIA Mid-South’s Campbellsville University Tigers, D.J. Wilson and Malik Evans will spend another summer with the Rogues. Fellow Oregon native Clay Valenzuela-Reece will join the club.

Malik Evans -- Pitcher

Malik Evans will rejoin the Rogues for the upcoming season having played five games during the 2016 campaign. Evans tossed six innings of scoreless ball and converted on two saves. Evans, a Springfield, Oregon native, transferred from Lane Community College (Eugene, OR) to Campbellsville (Kentucky) for his junior year. Evans has thrown over 44 innings in 13 games, striking out 26 batters while owning a 4.67 ERA.

D.J. Wilson -- Pitcher

A returning Great West League All-Star, D.J. Wilson returns to Harry & David Field after a dominant 2017. The Bend, Oregon native posted a 7-1 record last summer, fanning 27 batters in 60 innings of work, earning a 2.70 ERA. Wilson has thrown 45.2 innings for Campbellsville, owning a 5-2 record with a 2.17 ERA. Wilson was the winning pitcher in the Tigers Mid-South conference regular season title-clinching game.

Clay Valenzuela-Reece -- Infielder

Former Oregon City High School standout Clay Valenzuela-Reece will join the Rogues this upcoming season. Reece transferred from Tacoma Community College to Campbellsville for his junior year. In his lone season with the Tigers, Reece started 41 of 44 games leading the team with a .325 batting average. Reece leads Campbellsville in the hitting category and has tacked on three home runs with eight stolen bases.
