MEDFORD, Ore. – The Medford Rogues (17-8) defeated the Lincoln Potters (15-10) 14-11 on Monday night at Harry & David Field.

It was Kevin-Con night at the ballpark, and all Kevins (and non-Kevins) in attendance were treated to a roller-coaster of a ballgame. A total of 33 hits were record in this game.

The lead changed hands five times, but the Rogues took the lead in the bottom of the seventh inning on a wild play at first base. With the bases loaded, Dante Gutierrez (University of San Diego) hit a ground ball to Potters shortstop Jake Boyd. Boyd’s throw over to first was offline, pulling the first baseman Joseph Torres off the bag. Both players fell to the ground on the play. Both players got up, Gutierrez headed to second, while Torres head to foul ground to pick up the loose ball. The players collided on the basepath and both went down again. Both players got up again, and Gutierrez scrambled safely to second.

Davis Delorefice (Utah) went 4-6 with four RBI and four runs scored. The big hit for Delorefice came in the third inning, a bases clearing triple that scored Gutierrez, Johnny DeLaCruz (Louisiana-Monroe), and Braden Stutzman (Oregon). Delorefice lead the game off with a single for the fourth consecutive game.

Alex Isola (Utah) hit a two-run home run over the left field fence, scoring Clay Valenzuela-Reece (Campbellsville). It was Isola’s second home run of the year.

Valenzuela-Reece went 4-5 with two runs and three RBI, including a successful suicide squeeze bunt that brought home Scotty Wright (Colorado Christian) in the second inning.

Dylan Pearce (Oregon State) pitched five innings, gave up two earned runs, and struck out one, but had to settle with the no decision. Malik Evans (Campbellsville) earned the win.

Taylor Frost (Southern Idaho) earned his fourth save of the year.
