MEDFORD, Ore. – In a 27-6 victory over the San Francisco Seals, the Rogues broke their franchise team record for most runs (27), hits (24), and RBI (24) in a game and set the record for most runs scored in a single inning (10). Tate Cowden (University of Antelope Valley) tied the Rogues individual record for must runs scored in a game (5) and set the individual record for most walks in a game (4).

1,065 were on hand to witness the Rogues break the franchise records for most runs and hits in a game for the second time this season. The previous high for most runs and hits in a game (23 and 21, respectively) came on June 26th against the Lincoln Potters at McBean Memorial Park. Tommy Ahlstrom (Simpson University) set the Rogues record for most runs scored by an individual with five, which Cowden tied tonight.

The score was 2-1 in favor of the Rogues in the top of the fourth before the Seals jumped out to a 5-2 lead. It was short-lived, as the Rogues scored eight in the bottom of the fourth, two in the fifth, ten in the sixth, and five in the seventh.

It was Throwback Thursday at Harry & David Field. The Rogues paid homage to the original Medford Rogues, who played in the Rogue Valley back in 1950-51 by wearing Throwback jerseys modeled after the original Rogues, complete with baggy pants, high socks, and throwback hats. A former San Francisco Seal, Bob Frenna, threw out the ceremonial first pitch. Frenna was scouted by the Seals in 1947 while playing with neighborhood kids in Glenn Park when he was just 17 years old. At the time, the Seals were a AAA team coached by Hall of Famer Lefty O’Doul.

The Rogues finish the season 3-0 on Throwback Thursdays.
