Pearce Fans 10; Rogues Cruise Past Pickles

MEDFORD, Ore. -- The Medford Rogues took care of the Portland Pickles on Tuesday night by winning 8-1 at Harry & David Field in game one of the three game series.

The Rogues (8-5) jumped out to a 2-0 lead after the second inning and never looked back. Jayden Hanna (Lane CC) hit a two-RBI single in the fourth inning scoring Alex Isola (Utah) and Connor Lowrie (Blackhawk JC).

Dylan Pearce (Oregon State) threw seven innings of lights out baseball, scattering four hits with a walk and a season-high ten strikeouts.

Clay Valenzuela-Reece (Campbellsville) had three singles and two runs including one in the fourth coming off the bat of Davis Delorefice (Utah). Delorefice had an RBI single.

Valenzuela-Reece extended his hitting streak to nine games.

Portland falls to 6-7 on the season.

The Rogues will host Portland on Wednesday night for game two of the three-game series. The Rogues will celebrate the Army’s 242nd birthday with the first 250 fans receiving an Army Water Bottle.
