Rogues Score Early and Often, Take Game Two

MARYSVILLE, Ca. – The Medford Rogues (27-11) defeated the Yuba City Bears (10-27) 12-3 on Monday night at Colusa Casino Stadium.

Alex Isola (Utah) hit a double to the left-centerfield gap, which scored Clay Valenzuela-Reece (Campbellsville) and Jake Hellweg (Bethune Cookman) in the top of the first inning.

Jake Gozzo (Orange Coast) made his return to the lineup after missing several weeks with an ankle injury. He walked to lead off the second inning. A few wild pitches later, Valenzuela-Reece singled home Gozzo, extending his hitting streak to 15 games.

Davis Delorefice (Utah) then singled home Valenzuela-Reece, and Isola singled home Delorefice, which put the Rogues up 6-0 in the sixth inning.

Connor Lowrie (Blackhawk JC) hit a bloop single to center field with the bases loaded to score Isola and Johnny Delacruz (Louisiana-Monroe). That two-RBI single gave the Rogues their ninth and tenth runs of the ball game.

Ashland native Jamie Flynn (Cornell) pitched 5 innings of shutout baseball. He gave up just three hits and struck out four. He earned his third win of the year and lowered his ERA to 1.11 in 24.1 innings pitched.
