MEDFORD, Ore. – The Medford Rogues (31-14) defeated the Yuba City Bears (10-36) 19-5 on Thursday night at Harry & David Field on Salute to Bacon Night.

The Rogues set a team record for most runs and hits in the game this season. The fans at Harry & David Field set a Great West League record for consuming over 75lbs of bacon.

Clay Valenzuela-Reece (Campbellsville) lead the game off with a single. He and Alex Isola (Utah) would eventually come around to score, thanks to two errors and three stolen bases allowed by the Bears.

Josh Berman (Clark CC) hit a solo opposite field home run in the second inning, which sparked a five-run inning for the Rogues.

The Rogues would get two more in the third, thanks to a two-RBI ground rule double by Isola, scoring Jake Gozzo (Orange Coast) and Berman.

The Bears would claw their way to within four, but the Rogues would tack on nine more runs in the seventh to put the game out of reach.

Starting pitcher Jaiden France (San Jose State) went five innings; he struck out five and gave up three earned runs, and earned his fourth win of the year.

Scotty Wright (Colorado Christian) pitched a scoreless seventh inning, and struck out two.

Taylor Frost (Southern Idaho) pitched a scoreless ninth and recorded two strikeouts in the non-save situation.

With the win, the Rogues increase their lead atop the Great West League to two games over the Lincoln Potters (29-16).
