MEDFORD, Ore. – The Medford Rogues (34-14) defeated the Marysville Gold Sox (19-30) 14-6 on Tuesday night at Harry & David Field on Christmas in July.

Clay Valenzulea-Reece (Campbellsville) lead the game off with a single for the Rogues, his 63rd of the year, which set the Rogues record for most hits in a season.

The Rogues opened up their presents (and the scoring) in the second inning. Three consecutive singles by Johnny DeLaCruz (Louisiana-Monroe), Jake Hellweg (Bethune Cookman), and Connor Lowrie (Blackhawk JC) loaded the bases for Josh Berman (Clark CC).

Berman cleared the bases with a triple over the right fielder's head. Caleb Smith (Linn-Benton CC) delivered Berman home on a fielder's choice.

Valenzuela-Reece had another single and Davis Delorefice (Utah) reached on an error to load the bases for the second time in the inning.

Great West League Player of the Week Eric Yang (UC Santa Barbara) hit a two-RBI single, which scored Valenzuela-Reece and Smith.

The Gold Sox would answer with six in the fourth, but the Rogues offensive display continued.

Berman lead off the fifth inning with a single, and Smith walked. Valenzuela-Reece bunted the runners over to second and third.

Yang tripled to right-center field to plate Berman and Smith, giving Yang his third and fourth RBI of the day.

Malik Evans (Campbellsvile) pitched two scoreless innings in relief and earned his third save of the year.
