Rogues Tarnish Gold Sox in Game One

Medford, Oregon - The Medford Rogues faced the Marysville Gold Sox the first this summer for the first place spot in the Great West League. The Rogues scoring began in the first inning and continued throughout the game with productive at bats, leading to a 13-0 win over Marysville. Every lead-off batter for the Rogues that reached base, scored a run. With exceptional pitching on the mound, the Rogues shutout the Gold Sox in their second shutout game in a row. Medford has now won 5 games in row and are now 6-1 overall. 

Scoring started off early for the Rogues in the first inning with three runs with RBI singles by Ian Nowack, Parker Kelly and Jared Denning. Brock Pradere led things off in the bottom of the second with a single then a stolen base and was brought in with a fielders choice, increasing the Rogues’ lead to 4-0. Chad Bell reached in the bottom of the third with a lead-off single then scored the fifth run of the game by way of an RBI single by Connor McNally. McNally follow up wtih a 2-RBI double in the sixth inning, further extending the Rogues’ lead to 9-0. The Rogues plated four more runs in the bottom of the eighth with a bases clearing, 3-run double by Parker Kelly. 

Kyle Robeniol was outstanding on the mound in his first appearance for Medford. Robeniol tossed seven innings, gave up 5 hits and no runs. He struck out six and did not walk a Gold Sox batter. Donovan Balducci came in to pitch the eighth inning and continued the shutout, striking out one batter. Will Martel pitched the ninth, giving up one hit and striking out one. 

Every batter for the Rogues reached base. Connor McNally went four-for-five with three RBIs, three singles, a double and three runs scored. David Bellamy was also consistent at the plate, going three-for-five with three singles. Ian Nowack scored three runs and brought in two runs. 

The Rogues and Gold Sox face off in game two tomorrow night at Harry and David Field in Medford at 6:35pm. It is Army Night in celebration of the Army’s birthday and all current and past Army servicemen and women will get in for free. It is also Petro $2 Tuesday with $2 bleacher tickets.
