MEDFORD, Ore. – The 2017 GWL Champion Medford Rogues have announced the signing of pitcher Brock Townsend and infielder Josh Congdon from Linn-Benton Community College.

Congdon hit .346 with 47 hits, 24 runs, 10 doubles, and was a perfect 5 for 5 in stolen base attempts in 42 games last season for the Roadrunners. He was also named to the All-NWAC (Northwest Athletic Conference) First Team in 2017, alongside former Rogues and 2017 GWL Champions Dylan Pearce, Caleb Smith, and Josh Berman. Congdon has been playing baseball since he was four years old. “I love playing baseball and I do not take a day for granted,” said Congdon. “I am very excited to come play for the Rogues this summer and to help defend a championship.”

Pitcher Brock Townsend dominated his opponents his senior year of high school. He posted a 0.81 ERA with 79 strikeouts and only 28 hits allowed in 51.2 innings pitched for Churchill High School in Eugene, Oregon. Townsend comes from a baseball family. His mother and father both played in college, and his younger brother is a junior at Churchill this year. “I love the outdoors, so I can't wait to experience the Rogue Valley,” said Townsend. “I heard there is great fishing there. It is such a beautiful area to be playing baseball in… it’s going to be very exciting making great memories. Baseball is in my heart and in my blood, I am very honored to be able to put on a Rogues uniform and compete for a championship.”
