Rogues Take Series Over Stealth

 Medford, Oregon - The Medford Rogues and Sacramento Stealth met for game two on a warm summer day in Medford. The Rogues were led by strong pitching by Kade Wagner and his ten strikeouts. The Rogues were able to beat the Stealth 5-1 in game two and take the series. 

 

After going down in order in the first inning, the Rogues got to scoring in the second inning. off a Sacramento error. Medford plated two more runs in the third, bringing in Derron Davis and Connor McNally. Chad Bell extended the Rogues lead after reaching on a single, stealing second base and scoring off another Stealth error. The Rogues led 4-1 heading into the eighth when the Rogues scored thte final run of the game off a sacrifice fly by David Bellamy. 

 

Medford pitching was led by lefty, Kade Wagner. Wagner earned the start and pitching 7 innings, gave up 1 run on 3 hits and and no walk. He finished with 10 strikeouts, 1 shy of tying a franchise record for Medford. Wagner now has an ERA of .90. Tristan Duncan pitched the eighth inning, striking out the side, with a 5.40 ERA. Parker Kelly finished the game in the ninth, giving up no runs on 1 hit. He walked one batter and now has an ERA of 6.23. 

 

At the plate, the Rogues were led by Spencer Steer who went 1-for-3 with a run scored and a stolen base and now with a .435 batting average. Chad Bell also was strong at the plate going 1-for-3 with a stolen base and a run scored. Bell’s average now is at .217. 

 

The Rogues go for the sweep tomorrow night against the Stealth at 6:35pm at Harry and David Field. It will be Superhero Night and fans that wear their superhero costume will receive a bleacher for $5.
