MARYSVILLE, Ca. – The Medford Rogues (21-7) fell to the Yuba-Sutter Gold Sox (20-9) 10-6 at Colusa Casino Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Gold Sox scored the first 10 runs of the game, but the Rogues battled back late in the late innings. With two aboard, Tre’Von Doresy (Undecided) lifted a line drive to left field that carried over the wall for a three-run home run to cap off an eight-run fifth.

Turner Olson (Chico State University) made his Rogues debut on the mound. He started the game and gave up three runs, two earned, and struck out one in two innings of work.

Medford native Josh Berman (Texas A&M Corpus Christi) came on in relief of Olson. He struck out three in 1.1 innings of work, but allowed two runs, one earned.

Pete Mendazona (Feather River College) also made his debut on the mound. He allowed three runs on three hits in 1.1 innings.

Devon Canty (Menlo College) came on in relief of Mendazona in the fifth inning.

Joe Johnson (Vanguard University) reached on an error with two outs in the top of the seventh inning. Tyler Hollow (Dixie State University) hit a line drive to the right side, but the ball hit Johnson in the back of the heel. Runners that are struck by batted balls are automatically out, and so that ended the seventh inning.

Rogues pitchers had a combined 1.2 innings pitched this season prior to today before Eagle Point native Preston Johnson (George Fox University) came on in the bottom of eighth inning.
