Rogues All-Star Recap

The Medford Rogues hosted the inaugural Great West League All-Star Game in front of a crowd of 2,467 at Harry and David Field. The North All-Stars beat the South All-Stars 6-5 in the first All-Star Game of the league.

The South scored first in the first inning off an RBI single by the Lodi Crusher’s Bo McClintock. Leading 1-0 until the fifth inning, the North had a big 4-run inning. Keaton Kringlen brought in the first run of the game for the and then he was brought in by Medford Rogues’ Johnny Delacruz. The North scored again in the seventh off an RBI by Chico Heat catcher, David Noworyta and again in the eighth with a sacrifice fly by Delacruz. The South came back in the top of the ninth with a 4-run inning but the North held on for the 6-5 win.

Sahid Valenzuela (Portland Pickles) who went 2-for-4 with a run scored was named the game’s MVP.

Dalton Devries was the Great West League Home Run Derby champion from the Derby the night before.
