Rogues Sweep Pickles

Portland, Oregon - In front of a sold out Walker Stadium, the Medford Rogues took on the Portland Pickles in game three. It was a pitcher’s dual as both teams were scoreless until the Rogues plated 7 runs after the fifth inning. Medford stays atop the Great West League with an overall 33-12 record.

The Rogues scoring began in the fifth inning with a three-run fifth. Johnny Delacruz reached on a 2-run double clearing the bases. Cam Russ also reached on an RBI single and the Rogues jumped out to a 3-0 lead. The Pickles plated a run in the bottom of the fifth inning and the score was 3-1 going into the sixth. Scoring for Medford continued into the seventh with an RBI by Connor McNally and the Rogues struck again in the eighth with RBIs by Braden Stutzman and Connor Lowrie. The Pickles were unable to plate anymore runs and fell 7-1 in game three.

Brock Pradere had a standout night at the plate going 3-for-4 with two runs scored. Pradere also swiped two bases and now has a .250 batting average. Johnny Delacruz went 2-for-5 and now improves his batting average to .268. Braden Stutzman went 1-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored now with a .213 average.

Reece Green earned his sixth win of the year on the mound for Medford. Green threw eight innings and gave up 1 run (unearned) off of 7 hits. He walked 3 batters and struck out 9. Green earns the sub-1 ERA with a .93 overall earned run average. Parker Kelly pitched the ninth inning for Medford and did not give up a run off of 2 hits. He now has a 3.13 ERA.

The Rogues face off with the Sacramento Stealth tomorrow night at Harry and David Field at 6:35pm. It is Rogue Credit Union Night at the ballpark and all RCU members get in for free by showing their member ID at the box office.
