Rogues Ruff Up Stealth

Medford, Oregon - The Medford Rogues and Sacramento Stealth met for game three tonight in front of humans and their four-legged friends for Bark in the Park. The Rogues again got off to an early start and swept the Stealth in game 3, 9-1. Medford is now 36-12 on the season and remain 8.5 games ahead of the #2 Chico Heat.


Rogues scoring began in the second inning after Braden Stutzman reached on a lead-off single. Stutzman was joined on the basepath by Jared Denning and due to a couple of wild pitches, both were able to score. Derron Davis then scored off an error. Leading 3-0 into the fourth, Sacramento got on board with a ground rule double that brought in a run. Medford scored another run in the fourth by an RBI by Davis. Leading 4-1 into the sixth, the Rogues plated another off an RBI triple by Denning and then Denning scored with another Davis groundout. Medford plated three more runs in the eighth inning off of 5 walks and a hit. Rogues beat the Stealth, 9-1.


At the plate, Jared Denning went 2-for-2 with an RBI and four runs scored. Denning improves his batting average to .190. Braden Stutzman went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a .239 batting average. Brock Pradere went 1-for-2 with two RBIs and a strong .265 batting average.


CJ Eytel earned the start for the Rogues and pitched 5 innings, gave up just 1 run on 8 hits and walked two. He struck out three and finishes with a 2.87 ERA. Chris Painter pitched 2 innings and did not give up a run or hit and finishes with a 2.13 ERA. Parker Kelly finished the final two innings and did not give up a hit but walked one and struck out one now with a 2.88 ERA.


The Rogues hit the road starting tomorrow to first face the Lodi Crushers and then the Marysville Gold Sox before the final homestand at Harry and David Field beginning on August 9th at 6:35pm versus the Chico Heat.
