Medford Falls to Lodi

Lodi, California - The Medford Rogues and Lodi Crushers had to play a continuation of last night’s game after the Rogues and Crushers played into the 14th inning. At 11pm, the sprinklers kicked on and made the field unplayable. The game was suspended until tonight and the Rogues fell to the Crushers 3-2. Game three followed and the Rogues were unable to take the series, and lost in game three 7-1.

Last night’s game featured outstanding pitching by both teams which forced the game into extra innings. The Rogues scored in the first inning off a sacrifice fly by Cam Russ and then tied the game in the seventh off an RBI triple by Brock Pradere. In the fourteenth inning, the Crushers hit a walkoff single into right field to beat Medford, 3-2.

For game three, the Crushers got to scoring early. They plated one run in the first inning and then Gasberth Pacheco blasted a 2-run homerun in the third. The Rogues plated one run in the fifth off an RBI single by Jayden Hanna but were unable to score anymore runs. The Crushers scored three more in the sixth, most notably off a 2-run double by Chris Williams. The Rogues fell to the Crushers, 7-1.

On the mound, Chris Painter earned his first start for the Rogues. Painter went 5 innings and gave up 4 runs on 7 hits. He walked three and struck out two and now has a 3.57 ERA. Colton Westfall came in relief and pitched ⅔ innings and gave up 3 runs on 4 hits. Connor Lowrie recorded the final out with a groundout to short and has a 3.86 ERA.

The Rogues travel to Marysville to take on the Gold Sox for the final regular season road series of the season. The Rogues will take on Marysville for a 3-game series before heading back to Medford to take on the Chico Heat beginning August 9.
