April 1, 2016 - The Medford Rogues are ecstatic to announce that they will be having an all-female roster this season. The Rogues will be following the guidelines of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League that existed from 1943 to 1954 and was founded by Philip K. Wrigley.

The Rogues will still be a part of the Great West League and will be competing against the other all-male teams and will play the same schedule. This decision is thanks to the acting General Manager, Carolyn Birch. “This just seemed like a natural choice for the Rogues. We have always talked about ways that we could be different and spice things up. After the success of the AAGPBL during World War II and the current success of USA Baseball, it was clear that this should be our next step.”

Head Coach Josh Hogan will retain his position with the organization. “After years of coaching young men, I was always aware of the young women that were wanting to play baseball as well. When I looked at where I wanted to be in my life, I knew that I wanted to give back to a sport that has given me so much.”

Medford will feature the best women’s baseball players in the country. Center fielder Babs McGee from Florida is one of the most feared players while on base. She leads the country in steals and is not afraid to steal any base, no matter the situation.

Callie Calhoun will be behind the plate for the Rogues. Calhoun can call a mean game and is known to get in the head of every batter. She is posting a .311 batting average in her current league in New York.

Maggie Stewart will be on the mound for the Rogues and is best known for her cutter and curveball. Stewart has been pitching from a young age and has continued through high school. She will be graduating from high school in May in Kentucky and then will be one of the youngest players on the field this summer.
