March 16, 2020 - Medford, OR:  The Medford Rogues baseball club would like to congratulate Emma Tiedemann, who today was named the Director of Broadcasting of the Portland Sea Dogs.  The Sea Dogs are the Double-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox (Eastern League).   Tiedemann becomes just the fifth lead broadcaster in the Sea Dogs 27-year history, replacing longtime Sea Dogs radio broadcaster Mike Antonellis, who has joined the Pawtucket Red Sox broadcast team.

She has spent the previous two seasons as the Director of Broadcasting & Media Relations for the Lexington Legends, where she called back-to-back South Atlantic League Championships. In 2019, she was honored as the South Atlantic League Media Relations Director of the Year. During the off-season, she served as the voice of Morehead State University Women's Basketball on ESPN+ and radio.

"I am thrilled to be joining a world class organization,” stated Tiedemann. “It is an honor to be following in Mike's footsteps because he has achieved so much during his tenure in Portland. I can't wait to get to work bringing Portland Sea Dogs baseball to fans across the country!"

Prior to joining the Legends Emma was the Broadcast and Media Relations Assistant for the St. Paul Saints, an independent baseball team. She spent 2015 and 2016 in Medford,  as Broadcast and Communications Manager for the Medford Rogues, a collegiate summer team. In 2014, she was part of the broadcast duo for the Mat-Su Miners, another summer collegiate team, in Palmer, Alaska.

Tiedemann graduated from the University of Missouri in 2015. At Mizzou, she was active with the student radio station, KCOU-FM, and Mizzou Network. She called Missouri basketball, football, baseball, softball, volleyball and soccer, but most notably the 2014 Cotton Bowl in Arlington, Texas. Tiedemann began broadcasting at the University of Texas at Dallas in high school, covering women’s sports, men’s basketball and baseball.

"I worked with Emma my first six months in the Medford Rogues organization," said Rogues COO Dave May. "She was great at what she did, and I had very little doubt that she could make it in professional baseball. To have another member of our organization make it to the professional level shows that Medford is a great place to play, and work.  The Medford Rogues are rooting for Emma and wish her continued success."
