Rogues Shutout Heat in Game Two

Medford, Oregon - After a game one loss last night to the Chico Heat, the Medford Rogues cooled the Heat in game two with a 3-0 shutout. The Rogues just gave up only four hits and now split the series with the Heat. Medford now sits at a 39-17 record and Chico is at 34-22 overall.


The Rogues scored all their runs with a 3-run third inning starting with a lead-off single by Robby Teel. Brock Pradere brought in Teel with a RBI triple for the first run of the game. Derron Davis then brought in Pradere with an RBI single and the Rogues jumped out to a 2-0 lead. Jayden Hanna scored Davis off a sacrifice fly. Medford held on to the 3-0 lead and beat the Heat in game two.


Austin Crowson earned the start for the Rogues and went 7 innings and gave up just 4 hits and no runs. He struck out 4 and did not give up a walk. Crowson’s ERA sits at a healthy 1.78. Boone Cesarez pitched the eighth inning and did not give a hit or a run and walked one and struck out one. Parker Kelly earned the save in the ninth inning and pitched a shutout inning now with a 3.09 ERA.


At the plate, Brock Pradere went 1-for-2 with an RBI, run scored and his 24th stolen base of the summer. Pradere improves his batting average to .271. Derron Davis went 2-for-4 with an RBI and run scored improving his batting average to .288. Robby Teel went 1-for-3 with a run scored and has a batting average of .226.


The Rogues and Heat face off again tomorrow night at 6:35pm at Harry and David Field for game three. Medford and Chico will compete in the Great West Leage playoffs that begin on Friday in Chico and game two will be in Medford on Saturday night.
