Medford Falls to Portland in Game 2

MEDFORD, OREGON - The Medford Rogues and Portland Pickles faced off in game two of the three games series at Harry and David Field and despite a late rally, it was not enough as the Rogues fell to the Pickles, 6-3. 

Scoring for the Pickles started early with two runs in the second inning, after Denis Shanagher brought them in with a 2-RBI double. The Pickles plated two more runs in the fifth after Kinne reached base on a single and was brought in by an RBI double by Steven Chavez. The Rogues fought back in the 8th inning with three hits, a stolen base and two runs but could not complete the come back.

Cameron Russ was strong at the plate for the Rogues. Russ went two-for-five with two singles, a stolen base and crossed the plate twice, scoring two runs for the Rogues. David Bellamy went two-for-four with two singles and an RBI. 

Will Martel got the nod for the Rogues but only lasted 2.1 innings, giving up 4 hits and striking out two. Dylan Pearce came in for relief and pitched two innings, with four strikeouts and walking only one batter. 

Jacob Allbee earned the win for the Pickles, giving up five hits and striking out four. Max Jones pitched in relief going three innings giving up two runs on three hits. Joe Dahut got the save, pitching the ninth inning giving up one hit and striking out one batter. 

Tomorrow the Rogues and Pickles meet again at Harry and David Field for game three of the opening series at 6:35pm.
