Medford, Oregon - It was another close night at Tony Zupo Field in Lodi, California between the Rogues and Crushers. Despite the Crushers getting on the board in the first, the Rogues plated 6 runs in the third to jump ahead. Lodi fought back in the late innings with 3 runs in the seventh and two in the eighth. The Rogues defense prevented a comeback in the bottom of the ninth and the Rogues took game 2, and the series, winning 7-6.

The Crushers were the first to strike in the first inning off an RBI single by Gasberth Pacheco, which was the only run given up by Rogues starter, Kade Wagner. Medford bats were hot in the middle innings with the Rogues plating six runs on five hits. Derron Davis started with scoring with an 2-RBI triple, bringing in the first two runs of the inning. Connor Lowrie brought in Davis with a RBI double of his own. Three more runs came in to put the Rogues on top. Heading into the seventh inning, the Rogues were on top, 7-1. Crushers brought in three runs in the seventh and two more in the eighth but it wasn’t enough as the Rogues pitching staff kept the Crushers from scoring, taking game two in a close one, 7-6.

Kade Wagner got the start in his first appearance for the 2016 season. Wagner struck out the side in the first inning and continued strong pitching through his six innings of work. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits and struck out 6 batters. Malik Evans earned the save again for the Rogues pitching the ninth inning and keeping the Crushers at bay.

Bats were hot for the Rogues, with Derron Davis and Connor Lowrie getting extra base hits. Davis had a 2-RBI triple in the third and Lowrie also had a RBI double in the third. Connor McNally went 2-for-4 with two singles and two runs scored.

The Rogues and Crushers face off in game 3 tomorrow night at 6:05pm at Tony Zupo Field as Medford goes for the sweep. The Rogues return home Monday night to meet the Marysville Gold Sox for the first time this season at Harry and David Field at 6:35pm.
