Arcata, CA — The Medford Rogues’ season comes to a close after dropping the rubber game to the Humboldt Crabs 6-4 on Sunday afternoon. The Rogues are out of postseason contention. Medford set the tone early, striking first in the first inning off the bat of Logan Macy. Rogues led 1-0 heading into the second inning. Crabs tied it up on a sac fly from Joe Fagan. It was the same score until the fourth inning. Medford took the lead on an RBI single from Evan Saito. The Rogues scored once and left the bases loaded. It was the same score until the Crabs took the lead in the sixth inning. They put up a three-spot in the inning. Colton Boardman recorded a two-run single. Everett Johnson laid a bunt down to get a run across. Humboldt tacked on two more runs in the seventh with an RBI single from Adam Enyart and Colton Boardman. Medford could not recover from the two innings. The Rogues got a run across in the ninth but it was too little to late from an RBI double from Kian Sanchez. Sanchez recorded three hits on the afternoon. He is the player of the game. Rogues are eliminated on the final day of the regular season. Medford finishes the season 28-13 overall and finishes in third place in the Pacific Empire League at 15-10.
