Medford, Ore — The Medford Rogues get the brooms out for the first time this season, sweeping the Redmond Dudes on Sunday, 7-3. You can watch the game as it was recorded on our Youtube Channel, click here.
The Rogues plated runs in the first, second, sixth, and eighth innings. The scoring got going with Chris Ortiz driving in Daniel Behrmann. Medford led 1-0 after the first inning. Anthony Thomas Jr recorded a two-run RBI single in the second. Thomas Jr recorded his second round tripper of the season in the sixth inning. Another run came in when Jaden Neugebauer drove in Daniel Behrmann. Redmond scored three in the eighth inning and put a scare into the Rogues. Medford pushed two runs across to make it a 7-3 game. The pitching staff had a dominant day on the hill for the Rogues. Aden Bowman got the start, going three innings, striking out three Dudes batters and only issuing two walks. Tristan Ainsworth recorded three shutout innings in relief. Wyatt Green went an inning and recorded two punchouts. Caleb Malloy gave up three runs in the eighth inning but struck out three. Evan Rhoden came out of the pen and shut down the Dudes in the ninth inning. Medford is back in action on Wednesday night for the start of a two-game set against the CCL Showcase.
