Medford wins two games against the Kings at last home series during Fan Appreciation week

Medford, OR — The Rogues offense struck once again in back-to-back nights against the West Coast Kings, winning 16-3 on Wednesday night during Fan Appreciation week. The West Coast Kings got the first runs across in the game, scoring twice in the first inning. Rogues did not score until the second inning. Anthony Thomas Jr. drove in a run with a pop-out dropped by Zac Altamura in the infield. Bases were loaded in the inning, but Quinton Olson and Anthony Thomas Jr. were at first base together after the dust settled. Olson was out, and Jonathan Walsh was out at third base. Rogues followed up by scoring two more runs in the third inning. Jonathan Walsh recorded an RBI Single. Walsh came around and scored off a couple of errors from the Kings. In the fourth inning, the Rogues lit up the scoreboard, sending 11 batters to the dish and putting up a six-spot in the inning. West Coast Kings scored a run in the top of the sixth inning. In the bottom of the inning, Medford plated two more runs. Medford scored four more times in the seventh inning. Rogues’ pitching staff looked strong on the hill Wednesday night. Tristin Ainsworth got the start, going five innings and striking out four batters. Herman Luna, Ethan Swensen, Dez Ralls, and Josh Rodriguez each had an inning on the hill in the win. With the series win on Wednesday night, the Rogues move into second place in the Pacific Empire League with a record of 13-8. Thursday is the last home game of the regular season for the Rogues as they will spend their last 3 games in Arcata to play the Humboldt Crabs to finish off PEL league play. Looking ahead to Crabs series: Friday’s game starts at 7pm (gates open one hour prior), Saturday’s game starts at 6:30pm and there will be fireworks after the game, and Sunday is a day game that starts at 12;30pm. The World Famous Crab Grass Band will be in attendance at the Arcata ballpark on Friday and Sunday. Saturday is Crabs Alumni Festival where players from all eras of Crabs baseball return to Arcata for an early batting practice from 2-4pm, a photo, a catered meal in right field and to receive their Alumni gear.
The Crabs sell e-tickets available online on the team website, click here. Adults tickets are $10, children (3-12) are $4. All seating is general admission. General admission includes bleachers and a grass area in left field. You may bring in blankets, fold up chairs and outside food. Empty water containers only. Water refill station on the 1st base side at the end of the visiting team dugout. The Crabs do not sell tickets at the front gates, but physical tickets are available online or at Wildberries Marketplace in Arcata at their ticket office and they only take cash. There is an ATM on site inside Wildberries.
The Arcata Ballpark is on F and 9th Street, click here for map. There is only street parking, so first come, first serve. Some city street parking is hourly, but ends at 6pm. Foul ball areas are along F and 9th street, so beware! There is additional parking in the Safeway shopping center and in the downtown square. Several bank parking lots become available after 5pm.
Rogues fans should take note the weather in Humboldt County is usually in the 60s to low 70s. Coastal weather includes fog in the morning, so bring your puffy jackets and dress in layers.
