Medford, OR — Medford survives and sweeps the rival Humboldt Crabs Saturday night 3-2 on waterslide night at the ballpark. 959 fans attended the game at Harry & David field on a smokey night from a local fire that was burning nearby. After scoring 17 runs the night before, the Rogues did not score a run until the fifth inning. It was the Crabs who struck first in the game after Adam Enyart drove in Mikey Pickett on an RBI single in the fourth inning. Crabs followed up with a run scored in the fifth inning on a passed ball. Medford cracked into the run column on a passed ball that drove in two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. It was the same score between Humboldt and Medford until the eighth inning. Logan Macy got aboard with a two-out triple to extend the inning.

In the next at-bat, Kian Sanchez drove in Macy on an RBI Single. That was Sanchez’s first hit of the night. Crabs pitching coach Matt Tomlin was ejected from the game. Josh Rodriguez came in to pitch for Medford in the ninth inning. Colton Boardman got aboard with a leadoff single for the Crabs. Alex Harrington flew out to center field for the first out of the inning. The next batter was Mikey Pickett, and was called out on batter interference. After it happened, Jeff Giacomini, head coach of the Crabs, was ejected from the game for arguing the call. That was Rodriguez’s third save of the season for the Rogues. Medford hung on to win 3-2 against the Crabs. With the win tonight, the Rogues are 10-4 in league action.
