The Rogues open up the weekend with a win 12-2 against the Cal State Peloteros on Friday night that also saw the team wearing Navy inspired jerseys that were auctioned off to fans after the game. The specialty Navy jerseys were sponsored by Gage It Construction. The Rogues offense set the tone in the first inning putting up a three spot in the first inning. Chris Ortiz recorded an RBI single and Jackson Rosenthal recorded an RBI double. The Peloteros plated a run in the top of the third inning. Chris Ortiz in the bottom of the inning, went deep for the first time this season with a two-run blast. Rogues scored two more runs in the fourth inning and a run in the fifth inning. Ethan Swensen drove in Chanz Flores on an RBI single. Max Shabestari drove in two on a pitch-hit two-run single in the eighth inning. Rogues used six arms tonight. Forest Zelmer got the start going three innings and struck out one batter. Dylan Fanelli, Hayden Van Acker, Wyatt Green, and Caleb Randolph came out of the pen to pitch. Medford looks for the sweep tomorrow against the Cal State Peloteros for the Fourth of July game at 6:35 p.m. The game should reach a record attendance number tomorrow night, so get to the game early to find parking.
