Ragan Deals, Rogues Rout Bears

MARYSVILLE, CA -- The Medford Rogues (4-4) rebounded from a four game skid, with a 7-1 win over the Yuba City Bears (2-5) at Colusa Casino Stadium on Tuesday night.

 

Behind an inspiring performance by southpaw Jordan Ragan (Cal State Bakersfield), the Rogues get back to .500. Ragan (2-0) went eight and a third innings, scattering five hits, fanning six batters, and giving up no earned runs.

 

Josh Berman (Clark CC) hit a solo home run over the left field wall with two outs in the 3rd inning, the first of the year for the Rogues. Dante Gutierrez (University of San Diego) and Clay Valenzuela-Reece (Campbellsville University) each had two RBI a piece. Aaron Hutchinson (Lane CC) came in for the final two outs and shut the door on Yuba City, striking out the final two batters of the game.

 

The Yuba City Bears committed 7 errors in this one, allowing 3 unearned runs to come across for the Rogues. Malcolm Boehm scored the lone Bears run in the 4th inning.

The Rogues will play the Bears in the third game of the four game series tomorrow, first pitch is at 7:05pm. Medford will then travel south to take on the Lincoln Potters in a three game series, before returning back to Harry & David Field on June 13th to take on the Portland Pickles.
