Big Third Inning Puts Rogues On Top

MEDFORD, Ore. – The Medford Rogues (21-8) defeated the Portland Pickles (13-15) 12-5 on Friday night at Harry & David Field.

 

It was Bark at the Park night at Harry & David Field. Fans and their dogs were treated to another huge offensive performance by the Rogues, including an eight-run third inning.

 

Clay Valenzuela-Reece (Campbellsville) and Alex Isola (Utah) led the third inning off with a single. Johnny Delacruz (Louisiana-Monroe) then bunted for a single to load the bases.

 

Jake Hellweg (Bethune Cookman) walked, bringing home Valenzuela-Reece. Connor Lowrie (Blackhawk JC) singled up the middle, scoring Isola.

 

Jayden Hanna (Lane CC) and Dante Gutierrez (University of San Diego) walked, scoring Delacruz and Hellweg.

 

Bryce Tilton (Western Oregon) reached on an error, which scored Lowrie. Isola came up for the second time in the inning and singled home Tilton and Gutierrez.

 

Isola finished the game 3-5 with two RBI and a run scored.

 

Delorefice, Valenzuela-Reece, and Hellweg each had a hit and two runs scored in this game.

 

Brett Walker (UC Riverside) earned his first win for the Rogues this season. The Rogues staff combined for nine strikeouts in the game.
