Rogues Shutout Crushers

Lodi, California - The Medford Rogues and Lodi Crushers met at Tony Zupo Field for game one of their upcoming three game series. Led by outstanding pitching by Kyle Robeniol the Rogues were able to shutout the Crushers and take game one, 2-0. The Rogues now have an overall 37-12 record heading into game two, the Crushers fall to 20-29.

The Rogues plated their only two runs in the top of the first inning after Derron Davis reached on a leadoff walk. Jayden Hanna brought Derron in with an RBI double and then Hanna scored off a wild pitch. The Rogues held the Crushers scoreless with Kyle Robeniol on the mound. Robeniol went 7.2 innings and gave up just 4 hits. He struck out 8 batters and walked one. Robeniol now has a 1.40 ERA.

Dylan Pearce pitched ⅓ inning in relief and gave up one hit and no runs. Colton Westfall earned the save pitching the ninth, striking out two batters and not giving up a hit. Westfall now has 3 saves on the season and a 0.00 ERA.

At the plate, Jayden Hanna was responsible for both Medford runs. Hanna went 1-for-5 with an RBI double and a run scored. Derron Davis went 1-for-3 with a run scored and drew two walks, now with a .277 batting average.

The Rogues and Crushers face off again tomorrow night at 7:05pm at Tony Zupo Field for game two.
