Mudcats come out swining and put 7 on the board in the first inning

Medford, Ore — The Medford Rogues dropped game one of the series against the Solano Mudcats, 12-6, to open up Pacific Empire League play. The Mudcats plated seven runs right out of the gate in the first inning. Medford did not score until the third inning with a pair of RBI singles from Larsen Koester and Chris Ortiz in the third inning. It was a 7-2 lead for the Mudcats heading into the fourth inning, and Zac Goldenberg went deep for the first time in the series. He recorded another home run in the seventh inning. Rogues plated a pair of runs in the fifth and sixth innings. The Rogues pitching staff struggled again on Friday. Forest Zelmer got the start, going 4.0 IP and gave up 9 runs on the night. Lorenzo Lew, Hayden Kindreich, and Matty Ibrahim Jr. saw time out of the pen. Rogues are on a three-game losing streak. Boxscore: Click Here
