Rogues Sweep Twin Bill Against Mudcats Behind Complete Game, Huge Innings

Medford, Ore — The Medford Rogues take the last two games of the weekend series against the Solano Mudcats 9-3 and 12-6. In game one of the doubleheader, the Mudcats struck first with an RBI Single from Zac GoldenbergIn the bottom of the first, the Rogues scored two runs off a passed ball and a walk. It was the same score until the fourth inning, where the Mudcats scored twice on the Rogues’ two errors. In the bottom of that inning, Medford put up a four-spot in the game with an RBI Single from Larsen Koester and a two-run double from Chris Ortiz.  Rogues plated two runs in the fifth and a run in the sixth innings. Herman Luna got the start and went the whole way. Going seven innings and struck out one batter. It’s the first complete game pitched by a Rogue pitcher since Dylan Fanelli went the distance last season at home.  Medford took game one 9-3. In the nightcap of game two of the doubleheader, Solano fired first with a two-run blast from Derek Bartram. Solano tacked on a run in the third. Medford answered back with an RBI Double from Anthony Thomas Jr. It was the same score until the bottom of the fourth inning. Medford scored twice in the inning.  After Solano went in order in the top of the fifth inning, the Rogues put up a crooked number in the bottom of the inning, scoring seven runs.  Rogues plated two more runs in the bottom of the sixth. The pitching staff performed well against the Mudcats in game two of the doubleheader. Tristin Ainsworth got the start going 1.2 IP striking out two batters. Eric Hernandez went 2.1 innings. Wyatt Green, Caleb Randolph, and Dez Ralls got it across the finish line. Medford is back in action against the West Coast Kings on Tuesday night at 6:35 p.m.
