Rogues Shutout Stealth

On a chilly night in Medford, the Rogues shutout the Stealth in game one, 1-0. Outstanding pitching by Kyle Robeniol and Marcus Garcia kept the runners at bay after the Rogues scored in the first inning. The Rogues are now tied for first place in the Great West League with the Marysville Gold Sox with a 20-11 overall record and the Stealth’s record now falls to 4-19. 

The Rogues struck first in the first inning after Connor McNally reached on a triple. McNally was able to score off an RBI sacrifice fly by Connor Lowrie. Medford held the 1-0 lead until the ninth inning behind Kyle Robeniol and Trenton Stoltz. Medford stole three bases against the Stealth as well. 

Kyle Robeniol earned the start for the Rogues and had a fantastic seven inning. He gave up no runs on just 4 hits with 8 strikeouts. Robeniol walked 2 batters and now cuts his ERA down to just 1.76. Trenton Stoltz pitched the seventh and eighth innings giving up one hit and no runs. Stoltz struckout two batters and has a 7.88 ERA. 

At the plate, bats were relatively quiet due to strong Stealth pitching. Connor McNally went two-for-four, with a triple, a stolen base and a run. McNally is now batting .233. Chad Bell went 1-for-2 improving his average .204. 

The Rogues and Stealth face off again tomorrow night at 6:35pm at Harry and David Field at 6:35pm for game two. It will be Baywatch Night and fans that wear beach attire will be able to purchase $5 bleacher tickets.
