Yankees Draft Ahlstrom Article By: Rogues Media
Ahlstrom pitched with Chemeketa Community College at 2018 prior to transferring to the University of Oregon.
He went 9-3 with a 2.50 ERA and 92 strikeouts over 90 innings while leading the Ducks’ pitching staff in 2021. He led UO with a 1.03 WHIP and held opponents to a .231 average.
He is the 16th highest Oregon pick in modern era and the 55th Duck drafted since 2009.
This is what Baseball America had to say about the Oregon left-hander: “Ahlstrom isn’t flashy, with a fastball that sits 88-89 mph and tops out at 92, but he consistently throws the pitch for strikes. The same is true of his curveball and changeup, which are both average offerings, and he commands all three pitches effectively.”

July 12, 2021 - Denver, CO: The New York Yankees selected former Medford Rogue left-hander Robert Ahlstrom in the seventh round (213th overall) today. He played for the Rogues during the 2018 season and was 2-2 with 2 saves in 15 Great West League appearances.
